How long have you been working at Call Pal?
I have been working at Call Pal just over two years, since June 2023. I started as a call agent, and I got promoted to team lead earlier this year.

Did you always see yourself in a leadership position?
Definitely not when I first started! It felt like a very natural progression for me the longer I was here. Now I can’t imagine not being in the role I am in.

What skills helped you grow into a leadership role?
People skills are the most important part of this job, either while answering calls or leading the team. I learned from the team leads and management I’ve had over the past two years.
We spend so many hours a day talking to people that I think it’s impossible not to develop superhuman communication skills in this job!

How does Call Pal support career development?
The management at Call Pal are so supportive of all staff’s development. Any mention of progression or interest in another department is always met with enthusiasm.

What’s been the most rewarding part of becoming a team lead?
My favourite part of being team lead is the relationship I have with our clients. It’s nice to get to know the people we have names for on scripts!
I also love training new staff. It’s rewarding to see people use skills you’ve taught them and get confident enough to do things on their own.
