Tell us about Quantum 3

Quantum 3 manufactures a wide range of lean and flexible workflow solutions  for manufacturing industry. Our clients make things – whether that be products for people or the equipment needed to make products for people. What we do helps their workflow and makes it better. We do this through the design, build, supply and install of innovative smart workplace solutions.

What does your company produce?

We produce solutions that support the manufacturing process of our customers. We offer discrete solutions from material handling via conveyor or manual bespoke designed trolleys to standalone workstations, static or height-adjustable, and full assembly line solutions.

As you have offices based in Ireland and UK, has your business been affected by Brexit?

Brexit has been a challenge.  We have worked with our partners to mitigate most of our problems, which typically revolve around shipping, customs and the delays and cost impact these in both directions. Nevertheless there is still some inconsistency in how different partners in the supply chain deal with the demands of brexit and this can cause frustration.

Who is your target market?

Our target market is organisations within the manufacturing, production and assembly space, including pharmaceutical, medical devices, electronic and product manufacturing.

What makes Quantum3 stand out the most amongst your competition?

Quantum 3  offers a fully comprehensive design, build and install solution which includes aftersale support. We realise our solutions using our patented fast connect aluminium profile system which means time to delivery, once design is locked down, is typically within a third of the normal build time.  This system also delivers unique flexibility which means solutions can be adapted and reconfigured to suit changing onsite demands.

What is the biggest change you’ve seen in your industry since you launched in 2000?

The advent of the new millennium brought with it a technological revolution, and the pace at which the manufacturing industry has evolved is becoming faster and faster. Automation of course is a key factor, but so too is the need to be leaner, to minimise waste and to be more efficient – all things which our applications aim to improve.

What is the most positive thing to have happened for Quantum 3 in the last year?

Although the manufacturing industry has faced a number of setbacks since the beginning of the pandemic, we were delighted to contribute to the continuation of critical workplace operations through our workplace separation systems, making the workplace safer for employees to continue working, when possible. We have also contributed to the delivery of Covid test machines which has supported rapid testing throughout Ireland and the UK.

What is the number one thing you wished people knew about your company

The name ‘Quantum 3’ refers to the word ‘quantum’ which is the smallest physical quantity that can exist on its own – an analogy for our aluminium profile. It symbolises something greater, which improves because of how the individual parts work together.
