Ronan Bray, Financial Coaching.

Welcome to our second instalment of Call Pal client features. This week we are speaking with Ronan Bray from Financial Coaching.

Ronan is an Executive & Life Coach and a Mentor. We sat down with him to learn more about his industry and the advice he would give to people in 2022.

Tell us about Financial Coaching Ltd

In 2019 I qualified as an Executive & Life Coach. The idea was to set up a business using coaching and my experience as a Financial Advisor to help people be ultimately good with their money.

What does your company do?

The business coaches’ people around their money and helps them achieve financial goals using the skills of coaching. One such goal might be to save for one’s first home. Coaching helps to achieve goals, and this is an ideal approach to meet the goal of saving for your first home.

I also provide training courses on all things financial, including how to understand your payslip – such training can be delivered face-to-face or as in recent times over various platforms.

I also do some business mentoring as I am a member of the European Mentoring and Coaching Council (EMCC) at practitioner level.

What is your role within the company?

My role is essentially to run the business and to act as coach, mentor and trainer to various clients.  Where the need arises, I have access to other coaches and appropriate professionals, and these can be brought into the business where necessary.

Were there any standout moments for your business in 2021?

2021 was a challenging year for all businesses, but I guess one of the year’s highlights was to be able to deliver services over platforms like Zoom and Webex. I have traditionally done face-to-face coaching, but 2021 meant we had to change how we provided our service like many businesses.

As part of an Irish company, do you feel it is important to engage with and support other Irish businesses?

The Mentoring part of the business is an area of help to Irish Businesses where the owner wants a “sounding board” or a different set of eyes to look over the company. This confidential service is helpful for people who wish to step outside the business and see how things are progressing or what areas could be improved upon.

If you could only pick 1 selling point of your company, what would it be?

As a qualified coach, I am uniquely placed to advise in Financial Coaching. I have over 25 years of experience in financial services. This experience, my various qualifications, and the fact that I ran my own business for many years gives me an edge in the sphere of Financial Coaching and Mentoring.

What is the number one thing you wish people knew about your company or your industry?

The message I am trying to get out there is the positive life changes that can be brought about by engaging with a Financial Coach. Many people struggle to manage their money well, and some simple adjustments can significantly change how you treat money and move forward constructively. Financial Coaching is not being judgemental; it is about looking for positive ways to engage with your money and how that can transform your life.

What is your goal for 2022?

For 2022 I am really pushing the business so people will understand the actual value of this service. I am engaging with social platforms like Instagram and Facebook to continue to promote the business and get more client exposure to a service that can benefit everyone.
